A trip to Killarney National Park, is high on the list of every visitor to Ireland. The region offers stunning coastal views as the Kerry mountains tower high above the Atlantic, along with rustic villages that poker dot the route, all of which make for a great day out. After collecting you at your accommodation, we head to Killarney dropping by Ross Castle on the route to Muckross House, where we have an opportunity for an optional tour around this period style Victorian Stately Home. The House and gardens are set against the majestic backdrop of Lough Leane and Mountains.
As we head out to start the 179km round trip of the ‘Ring of Kerry’,we first pass through Killorglin, famous for its annual ‘Puck’ Fair. Next we reach the village of Glenbeigh and then Cahersiveen. We stop here to view the Daniel O'Connell Memorial Church, established in recognition of O’Connell achieving rights for Irish Catholics to become members of the British Parliament.
We continue along the headland to Waterville, a small coastal town where Charlie Chaplin had his summer cottage and a statue stands on the seafront. After a photo stop, we continue weaving our way through the rugged coastal scenery to the village of Sneem, glimpsing the Skellig Islands as we go. We stop here before heading back over the mountains to Molls Gap and Ladies View, where we are greeted by spectacular views of the Lakes and Killarney beyond.
Don’t forget to ask your Chauffeur what other opportunities this great County offers before heading back to your accommodation.
