Cliffs Of Moher & The Burren

iscover the rugged evergreen scenery of West Clare, on this superb excursion to the world renowned Cliffs of Moher. After collecting you at your accommodation, part of our morning is spent travelling to the seaside towns of Lahinch and Liscannor, catching a glimpse of the raging Atlantic Ocean as we go.

Rising some 700ft the Cliffs of Moher are world renowned as the longest single drop in Europe. Best viewed from O’Brien’s Tower on the headland, we have time here to  soak in the spectacular coastal views before dropping by the Visitor Centre. The little coastal village of Doolin, is not far away where you have the option to take a Small Boat Trip under the Cliffs, as they depart every half hour. Meanwhile, The McGann’s Family Pub is a firm favourite for a break for lunch. The rest of the day is spent exploring ‘The Burren’ (Bhoireann in Irish) perhaps one of the most extraordinary landscapes in Ireland, and classified a one of the 120, UNESCO World Heritage Parks.

The Burren is a Limestone, ‘pavement’, the product of a millennia of surface soil erosion that has exposed the rock, leaving a near lunar landscape. Centuries of weathering created crevices and potholes, which has become a habitat for a diverse variety of very rare alpine plants, from which the nearby Burren Perfumery source the base for its fragrances.

As we pass through this region enjoying its coastline and rural laneways, time permitting, we stop for photos. Don’t forget to ask your Chauffeur what other opportunities this great County offers before heading back to your accommodation. Download Tour Sheet.
